NSW Cultural Institutions Young Board Members EOI

NSW Cultural Institutions Young Board Members EOI

For the first time, six of New South Wales’ leading cultural institutions are each appointing a board member aged 18–28, following youth-led advocacy at the 2023 NSW Youth Roundtable. This is a unique opportunity to sit at the table of cultural leadership and help shape the strategic direction of institutions that define Australia’s artistic, historical, and civic identity.

Board members will serve a three-year term starting 1 October 2025. You’ll contribute to governance decisions, collaborate with a diverse cohort, and receive professional development including training from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. No prior board experience is required—just passion, lived experience, and a commitment to public culture. Travel support is available to ensure accessibility.

Participating institutions include:

  • Art Gallery of New South Wales

  • Australian Museum

  • Museums of History NSW
