National Youth Parliament Australia

The National Youth Parliament brings together young Australians aged 16–17 to experience democracy first-hand. Run in partnership with the Australian Parliament, the program gives participants the chance to represent their federal electorate, debate bills in the House of Representatives chamber, and engage with national issues. This is a fully funded, immersive civics experience designed to build leadership, confidence, and understanding of the parliamentary process while amplifying the voices of young people across the country.

    • Applications close: 21 November 2025

    • Program: Dates TBC, 2026 (delivered in Canberra, ACT)

    • Aged 16–17 years old

    • Must reside in Australia

    • One representative is selected from each federal electorate

    • Passion for civics, leadership, or community engagement is encouraged
