Policy Officer World Food Forum Australia Youth Chapter

The World Food Forum Australia Youth Chapter (WFF AYC) is seeking a voluntary and unpaid Policy Officer to amplify youth perspectives in agrifood policy and advocacy. WFF is a global, youth led initiative established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), focused on transforming global agrifood systems to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 2 Zero Hunger. The Officer will monitor national and global agrifood policy developments, identify opportunities for youth input, and prepare submissions, statements, and consultation responses with executive oversight. This role requires collaboration with partners, advisory groups, and government stakeholders to ensure policy work is informed and inclusive. The time commitment is approximately 3 to 5 hours per week, or 15 hours per month.

    • Must be based in Australia and under 35 years old.

    • Able to commit approximately 15 hours per month (3 to 5 hours a week).

    • Strong written communicator with attention to detail and clarity.

    • Interest or background in public policy, sustainability, or agrifood systems.

    • A genuine passion for sustainable food systems and commitment to youth led action.
