Social Media/Digital Marketing Internship w/ The Borgen Project

This program offers a part-time, 12-hour-per-week, 12-week, unpaid remote internship with The Borgen Project, an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people affected by war, famine and poverty. If your availability is limited, there is flexibility to work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks.

This role focuses on increasing public awareness of the organisation’s work and includes responsibilities such as developing a branding campaign, conducting an informal focus group and collecting feedback for market research, pitching story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media, creating and implementing a fundraising strategy, planning and marketing an informational meeting, presenting to community groups, utilising social media and developing strategies for web-based outreach. Interns will also assist with The Borgen Project’s advocacy initiatives.

New internship cycles begin every month, and applicants are free to select their preferred start date.


    • Duration 12 weeks

    • Start Date: New programs begin every month; applicant chooses the start month

    • Time commitment: 12 hours per week for 12 weeks (or fewer if working ahead).

    • No prior experience is necessary; passion for fighting poverty and righting wrongs.
