Project Rockit’s National Youth Collective
The Project Rockit National Youth Collective is a dynamic advisory group made up of young people aged 12 to 21 who are passionate about building safer, kinder, and more inclusive online and offline spaces. As part of the Collective, you’ll co-create projects, inform national conversations, and influence how Project Rockit delivers impact. The group operates in a hybrid format, welcoming young people from across Australia to engage in ways that suit their lives, passions, and priorities.
At the heart of the Collective are 32 Core Members, each contributing to different types of work that reflect the mission and vision of Project Rockit:
CLIENT Projects: Supporting partner organisations by offering lived experience to shape their work.
PROJECT ROCKIT Projects: Driving key organisational needs from within.
COLLECTIVE Projects: Member-generated initiatives sparked by personal passion and backed by the Collective.
HOW WE WORK Projects: Shaping the structures, policies, and processes that keep the Collective accountable, inclusive, and youth-led.
What makes this opportunity different? It’s not just about what young people do — it’s about how they’re empowered to do it. The Collective is grounded in 18+ years of learning how to centre youth agency, and it shows:
Deeply relational – Members aren’t cycled in and out yearly; relationships and trust are built over time.
Fluid membership – Participation is flexible, adapting to your availability and other life commitments.
Diverse in age and voice – The average age is 15, with members from 12 to 21 years old.
Non-hierarchical – Everyone shares power and decision-making.
Authentic in practice – How the Collective says it works is exactly how it operates — with integrity, care, and consistency.
