Office for Youth Steering Committee

Office for Youth Steering Committee

The Youth Steering Committee is a unique opportunity for young Australians to directly influence government policy and decision-making. Comprised of 14 young individuals aged 12 to 25 from diverse backgrounds, the committee's primary role is to provide advice to the Australian Government's Office for Youth and the Minister for Youth on policies and programs affecting young people.

This is a chance to ensure that youth voices are heard and considered in key government processes. The committee's work involves actively participating in the "Engage!" strategy, contributing to national youth consultations, and offering advice on a wide range of issues, from mental health and climate change to employment and gender equality. The intended outcome is to empower young people and ensure their perspectives are integrated into the development and implementation of government initiatives.
