Lawful by Design Student Ambassador Scheme

The Lawful by Design (LBD) Student Ambassador Scheme, run by Article 36 Legal, is designed to empower students to advocate for the responsible and lawful development of military technology. The program aims to bridge the knowledge gap on legal and ethical frameworks surrounding new weapons and technology. As an ambassador, you will raise awareness of International Humanitarian Law, promote interdisciplinary dialogue, and help shape the future of technology and warfare.

    • Applications close: 15 September 2025

    • This scheme is open to undergraduate, honours, masters, and PhD students studying or researching international law, IHL, arms control, engineering and defence technology, robotics, autonomy, artificial intelligence, machine learning, ethics, philosophy, policy related to technology and warfare, and international relations.
