Queensland Community Achievement Awards

The 7NEWS Queensland Community Achievement Awards celebrate individuals, groups, and organisations making a positive difference across Queensland. These awards shine a spotlight on community contributions across diverse fields including health, education, environment, culture, and grassroots leadership. Finalists and winners receive state-wide recognition, media exposure, and the opportunity to expand their impact and networks. The program culminates in a prestigious in-person awards ceremony, providing a platform to honour changemakers and inspire broader community involvement.

The program consists of multiple award categories:

  • Awards Australia Foundation Diversity and Inclusion Award: Recognises those advocating for diversity, equality, and inclusion within their communities or professions.

  • Bendigo Bank Community Group of the Year Award: Celebrates community groups, organisations, and not-for-profits that build meaningful connections and social wellbeing.

  • Konica Minolta Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Community Achievement Award: Honours initiatives supporting, uplifting, and empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

  • QLD Family and Child Commission Dedicated to Improving Safety of Children Award: Recognises those creating safe environments for Queensland children and young people.

  • QLD Family and Child Commission Dedicated to Supporting Young Queenslanders Award: Celebrates individuals or organisations empowering and uplifting young Queenslanders.

  • Royal on the Park Local Legend Award: Acknowledges individuals making extraordinary contributions at the local level across any field.

  • Synergie Australia Safety Award: Recognises innovative approaches to safety and wellbeing in workplaces and communities.

  • The Career College Small Business Award: Highlights the success and community contributions of small businesses driving innovation and growth.

    • Nominations close: 3 September 2025

    • Awards Ceremony: Later in 2025 (exact date TBC)

    • Open to Queensland-based individuals, organisations, community groups, and businesses

    • Each category has specific criteria, but all nominees must demonstrate measurable positive impact in their community or profession

    • Self-nominations and third-party nominations accepted
