Insurance & Workers Compensation Intern GB Darwin

Gallagher Bassett (GB) is seeking an intern to join their Darwin Insurance & Workers Compensation division. This opportunity allows interns to contribute to GB’s core mission of helping individuals recover from workplace injuries and return to employment. Interns will play an important role in supporting the recovery and return-to-work process, collaborating with employers and health practioners and positively influencing outcomes for injured workers.

In this role, interns will also work closely with employers within GB’s self-insurance division to help reduce insurance costs, improve business performance and safety records, and strengthen return-to-work outcomes. Over the six-week paid internship, interns will gain hands-on experience, structured training, an individualised development program, coaching and support, and a potential pathway to future career opportunities with GB.

No prior insurance or corporate experience is required—just a passion for learning, a commitment to service and a genuine motivation to help others. GB is dedicated to supporting people through challenging times while upholding values of teamwork, empathy, and integrity.

    • Must have full Australian working rights.

    • Must be able to work on-site in Darwin for the full duration of the internship.

    • Must be able to attend all required in-person training and team activities.

    • Must be studying or qualified in one of the following fields: Insurance, Allied Health, Nursing/Medicine, Community Services, Psychological Science, Health Science, Applied Social Science, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.

    • Must be scheduled to complete studies in 2027 or later.

    • Available for the full internship period: 12 January - 20 February 2026.
