March with Minus18: Midsumma Pride March 2026
March with Minus18: Midsumma Pride March 2026 is an in-person community event that invites LGBTQIA+ young people and their allies to take part in Melbourne’s iconic Midsumma Pride March in a safe, youth-centred environment. Led by Minus18, the event is designed primarily for queer young people aged 13–18, while also welcoming parents, carers, friends, and supporters who wish to march in solidarity.
Participants gather as part of the Minus18 contingent and walk the Pride March route together through St Kilda, celebrating diversity, visibility, and inclusion within one of Australia’s largest queer cultural festivals. The event emphasises community connection, self-expression, and collective pride, offering young people the opportunity to be publicly visible in a supportive and affirming setting. Pride flags, banners, and colourful outfits are encouraged, creating a joyful and empowering atmosphere.
Beyond the march itself, the experience supports young people to build confidence, feel a sense of belonging, and connect with peers who share similar identities and experiences. Youth leaders and staff from Minus18 are present throughout to ensure the event remains welcoming, inclusive, and safe for younger participants. March with Minus18 forms part of Minus18’s broader mission to champion LGBTQIA+ youth wellbeing, visibility, and social inclusion, while giving young people the chance to actively participate in a major cultural moment that celebrates queer identity and community solidarity.
